KP Alice & Phil Harrington Shamont Stardust, "Dana," has had an exciting time in the breed ring. Our pretty blue girl went with Terry Jennings in June and now has two points. Then at the Roanoke Kennel Club Show, August 2, she was Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite over two specials. She was Reserve Winners Bitch five times. ADS Ann Silverman—ENCORE Kodiak (Encore North To Alaska) appeared on Animal Planet's Puppy Olympics airing on Friday, August 8th. The show was filmed when he was just 3 months old and by the end of a very long day filming over 50 puppies, my tri Sheltie was one of the finalists. Great fun participating and the show was a real hoot. Kodiak was the only Sheltie participating that day. He was a bronze medalist in the agility competition.
Ann Decker Spivak—ANDEKR Shamont My Hearts In The Highlands, CD, RE (Bonnie) completed her Novice Jumpers Preferred Agility title and earned an extra leg on June 21 and 22, 2008 at the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club Agility Trial in Westminster, MD. HH Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE At Harrisburg, "Enya," Carmylie Brandina Wild Child, won BB over two specials for her second major. Then, at Timonium on the 21st, she was BOS for her final point, thus obtaining her championship. At that show, her son, Carmylie Paint The Sky (co-owned with fellow club members Jan George and Willie Larrick) was RWD and her daughter, Carmylie Miss Quinn, was RWB to her - so quite a family affair! "Quinn" was shown by Cindy Gaines. During that same week, ANOTHER daughter from the same litter, Carmylie The Rain Sings, won second in the 9-12 class at the National in Greely. This exceptional litter is sired by Am/Can Ch Dury Voe Scottsdale, who is in turn sired by our own Lyn Krivanek's Dundee Arizona. A fourth puppy is in a show home in Canada and the owner is very pleased with her development as well. This breeding will be repeated when "Enya" comes in season this summer. Once again I am SOOO excited! Today (5/26) Gwen, (my bi-black girl Carmylie Bi Bi Blackbird, CGC, 12 pts, 1 major) qualified in the Herding Test division (one step above Herding Instinct test—we actually move sheep from one point to another and back again—with pauses along the way) at her first AKC herding trial, to give her one of two legs needed to obtain the Herding Tested title! She was awesome (though needs some work on CONTROL). There was a professional photographer there, so we should have some really great shots to share. Gwen also has a qualifying run in both NA and NAJ agility and is entered in two trials in late June and early July, so hopefully, I'll have news of two new titles after that time. Triumph Lanstarr Rock-N-Roll Rebel, sired by Carmylie After The Storm out of Triumph Lanstarr Angel Among Us, has his second major under judge Joe Holava at Trumbull County KC on May 25th. ADS Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE Carmylie Bi Bi Birdie (Gwen) has a leg in Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers With Weaves with two clean runs and a first place in both divisions. We had the fastest time among the Shelties in Novice Jumpers With Weaves. As Judy Kelsey so sweetly put it to me, "Not bad for an old broad." At the Sunday PVSSC show, Gwen was Reserve Winners Bitch—close, but no cigar as that would have finished her. JS Carmyle Brandina Wild Child (Enya) won her classes and her daughter, by new CH Dury Voe Scottsdale, won a big puppy class at the Baltimore Specialty. JS Carmylie After The Storm won his classes—he's exciting me in the siring department, too. He has had three litters, all with keepers.
