Cindy Gaines—SHELAAZ

I am proud to make this announcement that Carmylie Dundee Downtown Brown (Deion) was winners dog at the Shetland Sheepdog Club Of Northern New Jersey's specialty show on Saturday, October 15th. The judge was Linda Churchill and Jean was showing him. He looked so good. This was a four-point major too! Deion now has a total of 9 points which include both his majors!!! Thank you to Lyn for asking me way back when to train him, then asking Jean if she wanted to keep him. Thank you to Jean for letting me co-own him with her. CG

Kathy Brunner

We had a great day doing Rally today (10/22) at the Cumberland Valley Kennel Club's trial. Timer (Sinmar Jolly Time Dan, RN) finished his Rally Advanced title with a score of 97 and a first place. CJ (Trebecca Cracker Jack) earned his second leg on his Rally Novice title with a score of 98 and a third place. I am very proud of my boys. KB

Ann Silverman—ENCORE

On October 21st, at the Greater Baltimore Shetland Sheepdog Club Novice/Open Agility Trial, Mark (Encore Mark My Word, NA, NAJ, OF) completed his Open Standard title. On October 23rd, at Old Line UKC shows, Kodiak (Encore North to Alaska) finished his Grand Championship title.

Karen Peak—WILL O'WISP

Will O'Wisp On Thin Ice ("Splash") took Puppy Group 1 at both shows at the Mid-Atlantic Kennel Club's fall s hows in Chesterfield, VA (UKC) on November 12. Splash was bred by me and is by Ch. Windrush Aynsworth Night Sky. She is co-owned by my daughter, Sarah, and mother. Splash was handled by Sarah, age 7, for every class, even Puppy Best in Show.

DUNDEE—Lyn and Bob Krivanek

The Krivaneks are pleased to report that C-A-MOON DUNDEE PROTOTYPE (UNO), our blue merle boy, took a 3-point major in Ohio with handler Katie Growahalski. He also has had 5 or 6 major reserves from the puppy classes. He was bred by Cheryl Kelly; sire is CH. Rosmoor Protocol and dam is C-A-Moon Chanel (Ch. Macdega Notorious ROM ex Ch. C-A-Moon Paris Hilton). LK

MAKEIT—Jan George and Willie Larrick
Our tri boy, Simon, needed one more win with competition to get his UKC Grand Championship, and he accomplished that today (August 27) at the shows in Lexington, KY. Then he went on to BOB and a Group 1. In show 2, he won the Grand CH class and was again BOB and Group 1. To top off this day, he was BEST IN SHOW in BOTH show 1 and 2!!! The little boy has come of age!! (Willie didn't do too badly, either!) An elated Jan, Willie and, of course, Simon (love that liver!) Simon is UKC Grand Champion Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon and is co-owned with Jean. JG

SHELAAZ—Cindy Gaines
Just wanted to brag about my girl Carmylie Shelaaz Radiance. "Lumina" got her first two legs in Novice Jumpers with Weaves Preferred this weekend at the Blue Ridge Dog Training Club agility trial. She had two clean runs and first place in both her runs. Thanks to my mom for running her. Lumina is a Carmylie Luminescence (Laser) daughter. CG

MAKEIT—Jan George and Willie Larrick
We would like to introduce our NEW CHAMPION to the club!! Rock is now AKC CH and UKC GrCH Carmylie Makeit All Terrain NA, NAJ. Rock finished with back-to-back majors at West Friendship, MD in July—only his second and third shows after coming to visit Cindy Gaines, Annette Talbot, Zana Friend, and Jean Simmonds. Rock is co-owned with Jean and, according to her count, it her 58th champion. We are still in shock!! Wow!! JG

CARMYLIE - Jean Simmonds

Carmylie Ravensong (Am/Can Ch. Dury Voe Encore / Encore-Carmylie Bi Mystique, ROMC) recently finishedher Canadian Championship and then moved up and was BB and a Group 4 the next day! Raven wasone of those "scardy-cats" as a puppy and was taken home for socialization by Tina, one of my Canadian friends and she has done wonders for her. Raven is now quite sure of herself. JS

DUNDEE—Lyn and Bob Krivanek

Lyn Krivanek was thrilled to take 4th place in the 6-9 AOAC puppy dog class at ASSA with barely 6 month old C-A-Moon Dundee Prototype (Uno). Bred by Cheryl Kelly, Uno is a Protocol son out of a Notorious daughter. We love his presence and his wonderful personality! He's a NWF blue merle boy with dark eyes. Our blue girl, Shaizach Dundee Diamonique (Nikki) made the cut in her 12-18 month bitch class. ASSA was the first show for both these youngsters so we were pleased. LK

MAKEIT—Jan George and Willie Larrick

We are very pleased to report that Korey, Carmylie Paint The Sky, was Winners Dog under Charoltte McGowan in Marietta, Ohio, (Blennerhassett show) May 19 for two more points. Korey was bred by and is co -owned with Jean Simmonds JG

SHELAAZ—Cindy Gaines

Mr. Deion (Carmylie Dundee Downtown Brown) was Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex at the Sunday shown under Judge Edward McNamme. He now has 5 points and one major. CG

KATHY BRUNNER:

At our club's agility trial this weekend, Dory (U CDX, U RO1 Winmar Everthin's Hunkydory CDX, RE, AX, AXJ, OAP, OJP ) did pretty well. On Friday, she earned her second leg in Excellent A Preferred Jumpers With Weaves, with a second place finish. On Saturday, she earned a second leg in Excellent A Preferred Standard Agility with a first place finish. "Timer" made his debut in JWW on Friday and did a good job, although he didn't qualify because he took a wrong jump, mostly due to his mom's bad timing. I was still proud of him on his first time competing in agility. KB

JAN GEORGE AND WILLIE LARRICK—MAKEIT

Last weekend (weekend of March 27th), at the Clermont County UKC shows, Simon, Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon , won a very large champion Class (six entries) three of the four shows. In all three, he was BOB and went on to group placements. We are very proud of our little tri boy! JG

Geri Mercer

At his first shows, Consort Resonance was WD and BW for a 4-point major under judge Ellen Worthington at the CVSSC Saturday Show. On Sunday at the CVSSC Show, he was Best in Sweeps under judge Kelly Meeks-Childs and Reserve under judge Rick Thompson. His sister, Consort Kymric Crescendo, was Runner Up in Sweeps under judge Linda Sanders at the BRSSC Saturday Show.

Alice Harrington

Shamont Stardust "Dana" had a good run with Terry Jennings this fall. Dana was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 3-point Major at the Virginia Beach KC show Nov 6. She also got Winners Bitch at the Catonsville KC show on Oct 15. She now has 6 points and a major. We are very proud of her! Many thanks to Terry! AH

Ann Decker Spivak—ANDEKR

At the Mattaponi Kennel Club Agility trial October 23, 2010, Shamont My Hearts In The Highlands CD RE AX AXJ NJP NF CGC (Bonnie) earned her 4th MXJ leg. On November 13 at the Capital City Cocker Club Agility Trial in Richmond Bonnie earned her 9th MX, 5th MXJ leg and her second double Q.

Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE

I just returned from the Cleveland Classic shows—two of which were the Cleveland SSC specialties. I am thrilled to announce that I finished my 10 1/2 month-old puppy, Carmylie Sea Wave, with two wins at these events (plus one reserve in between.) He apparently looked good enough to judges Kim Schive and Mark McMillan in spite of a somewhat scant coat as he goes into puppy shed! Darren is sired by CH Brandina Carmylie Double Digit out of a CAN CH Carmylie Walks on Water—a Memorandum daughter.

At Lehigh Valley KC on December 19th, Carmylie Miss Quinn was BW to bring her point total to 9, one major. She is sired by CH Dury Voe Scottsdale ex CH Carmylie Brandina Wild Child. Quinn was shown by co-owner, Carol McCandless of Croswind Shelties. WD at the same show was Carmylie Ultramarine, by CH Carmylie After The Storm ex Carmylie Marshmallow World, bringing his total to 5. He is shown by junior handler, Caitlynn Gallagher, and co-owned with her mom, Ellen Gallagher.

Jan George & Willie Larrick—MAKEIT

We had a big weekend at the Knoxville cluster in early November. On Friday, Korey (UKC GrCh BIS Carmylie Paint the Sky ) was WD, BOW and BOB for a point. Saturday he repeated as WD and was BOS for two points. Sunday, he was RWD (two points). Not bad for a boy we almost pulled for being totally naked! Simon, Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon, had a great time in the puppy class (which he won every day) and thoroughly enjoyed his first cluster (he had only been shown one day in AKC previously). JG

Jan George—MAKEIT

The Shelties at Makeit have had a good month in September. I think I reported that Korey got his U-GrCH (this was the end of August). Over Labor Day weekend, we went to the Bluegrass Cluster of AKC shows at the Horse Park, and Rock (U-CH Carmylie Makeit All Terrain NA, NAJ) was WD at the Saturday Lexington Kennel Club show for 2 points. These were Rock's last two singles, so now we go in search of those elusive majors! This past Sunday (Sept 12), Baby Simon (Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon ) made his AKC debut at the Clermont Co. Ohio show. We entered him just because Rock was going. Since Rock had minored out, we made the trek just for Simon. It paid off as Simon was WD under judge Charlotte McGowan for his first point. Not bad for his first time! He showed like a pro and got lots of attention.

October 3rd at the Clermont County Dog Training Club UKC show, Rock, Carmylie Makeit All Terrain NA NAJ , finished his Grand Championship with two BOBs, a Gp 4 and a Gp 2. Yesterday (Oct 2) Simon, Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon, was Best Puppy in Sweeps, Best Puppy in Match, and Best in Match at the Kentuckiana Shetland Sheepdog sanctioned match. Korey, Carmylie Paint The Sky, was Best Adult in Match. Simon, Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon, was Best Puppy in Sweeps, Best Puppy, and Best In Match at the Kentuckiana Shetland Sheepdog match earlier this month. "Brother" Korey, Carmylie Paint The Sky, was Best Adult.

Rock, Carmylie Makeit All Terrain, finished his UKC Grand Championship with a Gp 4 and a Gp 2 this month at the Clermont County (Ohio) Dog Training Club show.

Pat Schaap— SHENANIGAN

Well, we did it—Rally Novice title. Parker, has a new title—he's now Lanstarr Triumph Attitude, RN.

Showing is not what he really likes to do—he'd rather just do the work for food, get his "good boy" and head for home! He makes a wonderful demo dog for my classes, though. PAS

Karen Peak and Family

Congratulations to Karen and her family (particularly Connor) for the staring role they played in a recent episode of Animal Planet's "DOGS 101". Shelties were spotlighted and the Peaks made our breed proud.

Kathy Brunner

Yesterday, Timer (Winmar Jolly Time Dan RN) earned his first leg in AKC Novice obedience, and to quote the judge, it was by the skin of his teeth. He was worried about the judge following him around the ring, but I was very proud of his stays. During the long sit, there were two long bangs from someone throwing the dumbbell in the adjacent ring. Several dogs broke their stays, but good boy Timer held them. Doxie Joey (CH Camerons "Meet Joe Black") earned his first leg toward his Novice rally title. He was a very happy boy, and we entertained the crowd with our performance. KB

Jan George—MAKEIT

Willie, Jean, and I have some shouting to do. This weekend at the local UKC shows, baby Simon finished his championship and is now UKC CH Carmylie Chailea Simply Simon. Not to be outdone, big brother Korey, who needed three wins (against three champions) to finish his Grand Championship did just that. He also won three Bests of Breeds out of the four shows), and two Gp1's, a Gp 2, and a Reserve Best In Show. Korey is now UKC Grand Champion Carmylie Paint The Sky. JG

Pat Schaap—SHENANIGAN

Well, this time, both of us did well—Parker (Lanstarr Triumph Attitude) earned another leg toward a Rally Novice title with a 100 and First place at the Oriole Dog Training Club Rally Trial on August 27th. PS

Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE

Carmylie Miss Quinn (AM/Can Dury Voe Scottsdale ex Ch. Carmylie Brandina Wild Child) won back-toback Bests of Winners at the Berryville shows in VA, to bring her total to 7 points and a specialty major. Quinn is co-owned with Carol McCandless of Crosswind Shelties.

Then, two weeks ago I entered my youngest boy, Carmylie Sea Wave (by Ch. Brandina Carmylie Double Digit ex Carmylie Shimmering Water, a Memo daughter) in the Owego, NY shows to help build a major and at 6 1/2 months, he won one of them! Darren is a beautiful orange-gold, and very elegant. He is named in memory of his great grandpa, AM/CAN/BDA CH. Carmylie Tidal Wave.

Travis (Am/Can Ch. Carmylie After The Storm) has his sixth pointed child (of which two are AKC Champions, and one is a UKC Champion and minored out in AKC). Carmylie Ultramarine (ex Carmylie Marshmallow World) has won his first three points this summer, handled by teenager Caitlynn Gallagher. He is coowned with her Mom, Ellen. JS

Ann Decker Spivak—ANDEKR

Shamont My Hearts in the Highlands CD RE AX AXJ NJP NJ CGC TDI (Bonnie) has been busy in May with Agility trials, earning 6 MX legs and 3 MXJ legs. Ten legs are required for the MX or MXJ titles. At the May 21-23 Weimaraner Club Agility Trial Bonnie earned two additional MX legs and her second MXJ leg. At the May 29-31 Capital City Cocker Club Agility Trial Bonnie earned another three MX legs, her third MXJ leg and her first Double Q. ADS

Kathy Brunner

Doxie, Joey (CH Camerons Meet Joe Black) passed his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Therapy Dog International(TDI) tests. It wasn't easy to get him to lay down, or ignore the food distractions, but he did it! YAY, Joey! KB

Ann Silverman—ENCORE

Mark (Encore Mark My Word) finished his Novice Standard and Novice Fast Agility titles at the Capital Dog TrainingClub Trials in April. AS

Kathy Brunner

On Saturday, March 13th, at the Blue Ridge Dog Training Club agility trials, Dory (U-CDX, U-RO1 Winmar Everthin's Hunkydory CDX, RE, AXJ, AX, AXP, AJP, CKC CD), earned the first of 10 legs required for her MJP (Master Jumper Preferred) title, with a first place finish. I was especially proud of her since, with our hectic life lately, we have done very little training and she still managed to pull of a qualifying score. KB

Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE

Carmylie has ANOTHER new champion! The perky little bi-blue, Camylie Ice Crystals (by Am/Can Ch. Dury Voe Winergreen ex Palisades Carmylie Bi Wave), won her last point at Delaware Valley KC in York on 3/21. She is Champion #11 for her sire and #2 for her dam. That makes 54 for Carmylie!

Travis has recently returned from Canada with a new title attached. He was "borrowed" by good friend Gina Loffredo to be bred to her Can Ch. Carmylie Foremost Free And Clear, and she showed him while he was there. Now he's AM/ CAN Ch. Carmylie After The Storm. He is the sire of two champions with more on the way—he left a couple of really cute pups there, too. JS

Karen Peak: WILL O'WISP

At the Lynchberg, VA Terriers Show my son, Connor (11 1/2) got his second Novice Junior first place with UKC CH Phoenix Imaginary Friend (bred by Pam Moore). In the regular classes on day two of the shows, Connor showed "Foster" to Champion of Champions and Best of Breed and the went back in and took a Group 1st with him.

Sarah (just turned six this month) showed Foster in Sub-Juniors (non-licensed fun class for younger children) and then showed UKC CH Will O'Wisp Winter Storm (Ravyn) to reserve Champion. On the second day of the shows, Sarah had fun with "Foster" in Sub-Junior and then Connor and "Foster" took a second place in Novice Junior and then Reserve Champion. I showed "Ravyn" to Champion of Champions and Best of Breed and then a Group 3. KP

Jean Simmonds—Carmylie

Carmylie has had an incredible few weeks! At the Central Virginia Specialties, the little 13 1/4" bi-black, Carmylie Deja Blue Mystic Allure (by AM/CAN CH Apple Acres Expedition ex Carmylie Bi Mystique, ROMC) was BW for her first major. Sketch is co-bred with Judy Quirk. The next day, the sable, Carmylie Dundee Downtown Brown (by CH. Chailea Carmylie The Heat Is On, NAJ ex CH. Carmylie Autumn Storm) was WD for his first major. Then, just last weekend (February 27/28), Mystic Allure was WB for her second major, and then went on to take Best of Breed, now with a total of 7 points. The second day, the blue boy,

Carmylie Autumn Frost (by CH. Carmylie Triumph Pizazz, NA, NAJ ex Carmylie Autumn Splendor) was WD to finish his championship (#55)! Smudge is co-bred by Carol McCandless of Crosswind Shelties. We are still flying high! JS

Cindy Gaines

On February 14, 2010 at the Central Virginia Shetland Sheepdog Club's specialty show, Carmylie Dundee Downtown Brown, "Deion" went Winners Dog for his first three point major. I'm so proud of how he has come along in his first show training and starting his show career. He is a very handsome boy. CG

Jean Simmonds—Carmylie

It's #52 for Carmylie! Announcing the title of the bi-black, Deja Blue Carmylie Runway Model, by Ch. Apple Acres Expedition ex Carmylie Bi Mystique, ROMC. Tyra was very aptly shown by Zana Friend and she is owned by Carol Metz. Her little 13 1/4 inch younger black sister, Carmylie Deja Blue Mystic Allure finished in Canada this past summer to make her mom an ROMC. Sketch has been shown at three specialties this fall and was RWB at two of them. When she finishes, she will make her mom an ROM here as Tyra was her 4th US champion—the other being Ch. Grandgables Touched Bi Carmylie, Ch. Grandgables Carmylie Deja Blue, and Ch. Deja Blue Carymlie Cover Girl.

Champion #51 was Ch. Carmylie The Rain Sings, who finished shortly after Gwen last Spring. She is by AM/CAN Ch. Dury Voe Scottsdale ex Ch. Carmylie Brandina Wild Child. She has a sister in Canada who finishedthere this summer. She was our 62nd champion in Canada. Ch. Carmylie After The Storm is visiting up there now and needs only one point for a Canadian Championsip. Here, the little bi-blue Carmylie Ice Crystals, recently won two of the West Friendship shows, bringing her within one point of her title.

Any Dornak—AMADEN

My son Christopher, showed our bi-blue "Press" son and qualified in Novice A both days at the Catoctin KC Obedience Trial on Thanksgiving weekend. He finished his title on December 12th for his third leg in Novice A. He went three for three and did a very nice job to boot. This was only his third time in the ring ever! Christopher will be 12 at the end of this month and "Benne" (Amaden Stand Bi Me) just turned three. AD

Holly Hatcher—KYMRIC

Rudy, new Ch. Kymric The Contender, finished this past weekend with a specialty major under Melanie Williams and his last point under Joe Malloy. His sister, Ch. Kymric Christina, finished in July. HH

Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE

My 13 1/4" bi-black, Camylie Deja Blue Mystic Allure has won two specialty major reserves this fall. JS

Ann Decker Spivak—ANDEKR

On December 5th at the Oriole Trial in Westminster, MD, Bonnie completed her Excellent Standard Agility title with a second place finish, so she is now Shamont My Hearts In The Highlands, CD, RE AX, AXJ, NJP, NF, CGC. ADS

Jan George and Willie Larrick—MAKEIT

Korey is now U-CH Carmylie Paint The Sky with his victories at the end of October. At these shows, he finished with a BOW, and then, in the second show, got his first win toward his Grand along with a BOB and a Group 1.

We are equally proud of his daughter, Carmylie Chailea Upper Case, who held it together for two Best Female (UKC equivalent of Winner's Bitch in AKC) wins at her first shows! At the shows the weekend of November 21, she finished her UKC Championship at the tender age of ten months! She finished undefeated in her sex in four shows and the first time showing in the champion class, defeated her father, U-Ch Carmylie Paint The Sky.

Karen Peak—WILL O'WISP

October 30, UKC Ch Will O'Wisp Winter Storm (Ravyn) went Champion of Champions at the Capitol Terrier Association Halloween weekend shows. She went Reserve on Halloween, show 1. KP

Kathy Brunner

Dory (U-CDX Winmar Everythin's Hunkydory CDX, AX, AXJ, OAP, OJP, RE), Timer (Winmar Jolly Time Dan RN) and I went to UKC rally trials September 13th. Since it was our first time doing UKC rally, both dogs had to start at Level 1. In the first trial, both kids scored 99, but Timer took second place and Dory took third, since he was faster than she. Dory developed an itch in a private spot that needed attention while doing the course, which cost us about 10 seconds. In the second trial, Dory took first with a perfect score of 100, and Timer pulled off a third place with a score of 96, which really surprised me, since he was definately more worried and stressed during the second trial.

Jan George & Willie Larrick—MAKEIT

Our blue boy, U-CH Carmylie Makeit All Terrain, NA, NAJ was RWD to a major at the Lexington, KY KC show at the end of August, and yesterday, September 6th, was WD and BOW at the Clermont County KC Show in Ohio under Lester Mapes. Rock also won the champion class at the local UKC show the weekend before the Lexington show. "Brother" Korey (Carmylie Paint the Sky) was WD, BOW, BOB and Group 1 at both of these UKC shows so he is now halfway to his UKC championship. JG

Jean Simmonds—CARMYLIE

Carmylie is pleased to announce that it is now Ch. Carmylie Bi Bi Birdie, OA, NAJ, HT, CGC. Gwen got the last two legs of her open agility title at the BRDTC Trial over the 4th of July. Friends insisted I "move her up" to Excellent. I hardly feel ready for that level - but we did - and didn't she qualify for her first Excellent

leg!!! Talk about close- we had 44/100th of a second left in our time! JS

The blue boy, Carmylie Autumn Frost was BB for another point in NJ on 8/31- so is now at 9 points, one major. JS

The little BW girl, Carmylie Deja Blue Mystic Allure finished her title in Canada recently. That made her dam, Carmylie Bi Mystique , an ROMC. She has 3 US champions, and one with both majors, and hopefully Sketch can finish here, which will then give her the ROM in the US also. JS

I wish to include in the newsletter once again how thrilled I am at the marvelous Tribute Book the Club (and Pat Schaap ) did for me in celebration of my 50 champions. The labor of Love it shows is truly touching and will treasure it always. Thank you again. Jean

We were without anything to do last weekend, so we tested the waters at a UKC show in Ohio. There were about 300 dogs there with one judge, so it was quite an experience! Rock, Carmylie Makeit All Terrain, was Best Male (of the breed) at two shows on Saturday, with Korey, Carmylie Paint The Sky , reserve. That gave Rock half of the points he needed for his championship. Sunday, we left Korey at home but took Rock who garnered two Best of Breeds, two Group 1's, and a Reserve Best in Show. This makes him U-CH Carmylie Makeit All Terrain, NA, NAJ. What a weekend! JG
